Mary Alice Barker

Mrs. Mary Alice Barker, widow of the late Beach Barker died in the Silverton, Oregon hospital Thursday morning, June 21, 1962 following an illness of several months. Mrs. Barker was born in Charlesfort County Sligo, Ireland on April 10, 1881 and came to the United States in 1890.
She lived for a number of years at Prescott, Iowa and was united in marriage to Mr. Barker in Clarinda, Iowa on April 10, 1901. she also lived at Corning for about 46 years before moving to Oregon in 1948 and had been living in Molalla, Oregon.
Mr. Barker preceded her in death having died about a year ago. She was a member of the Molalla Community Baptist Church.
Surviving are five sons and five daughters, Otho P. and Mrs. Wayne (Doris) Ogburn, south of Molalla, Harold W. and Homer S. of Sturgis, South Dakota, Martin M. of Great Falls, Montana, Beulah Kolk and Mrs. William (Verla) Weaver of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Gene (Marjorie) Freelove of Chula Vista, California, Mrs. Kenneth (Vivian) Stephens of Oregon; a brother Dr. M. T. Jennings of Corning; a sister Margaret Sanders of Los Angeles, California; 48 grand children; 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, June 26 at Molalla Chapel with interment in the Adams Cemetery, Molalla, Oregon.
