Birth ===Mary Slocum was born in Portsmouth Township, Rhode Island, the 3rd dayof the Fifth month (July), 1660, O.S., and her name is recorded in the list of early settlers and proprietors of Dartmouth Township in New Plymouth, now Massachusetts.

Marriage ===She married Abraham Tucker on the 30th day of the Eighth month (October), 1679, O.S. Abraham was born the 13th day of the Tenth month (December), 1653, O.S., the son of Henry and Martha Tucker of Dartmouth.

Children ===1. Henry Tucker-422, born 8th month (October), 30th day, 1680; married Phebe Barton of Rhode Island

2. Mary Tucker-2727, born 12th month (February), 1st day, 1683; married (first name unknown) Cornell. Mary died 12th month (February), 5th day, 1769
3. Martha Tucker-861 (twin), born 9th month (November), 28th day, 1686; married George Thomas of Portsmouth Township, in 1708 4. Patience Tucker-11950 (twin), born 9th month (November), 28th day, 1686. She is named in the will of her uncle, John Slocum of Shrewsbury Township, New Jersey 5. Notes / Portsmouth, Rhode Island ==The settlement of Aquidneck (now called Providence) was established in1636 when Roger Williams left Massachusetts Bay Colony to seek freedom of worship. Other early settlements were: Portsmouth (1638), Newport (1639), and Warwick (1642). In 1644, Williams journeyed to England and secured a parliamentary patent uniting the four original townsinto a single colony, the Providence Plantations. Up to this point those lands were part of the New Plymouth Colony.

Notes / Dartmouth, Bristol County, Massachusetts ==Dartmouth was first settled in 1650 and was officially incorporated in1664. It was sold to the Religious Society of Friends or Quakers, whowished to live outside the stringent religious laws of the Puritans in Plymouth.

Bristol County was created by the Plymouth Colony on June 2, 1685.
