About Jane? Godfrey

From Find A Grave Memorial# 36289832

She was born about 1632, the daughter of John Turner and Jane ____ Turner of Lynn,MA and Taunton,MA.

Her first name is surmised by Emery, in his 1893 "History of Taunton", to be "Jane", but no evidence for her given name has been found. As her mother's name and the given name of a daughter were Jane, she may well have been "Jane".

She died certainly before Mar 26,1684, the date of her husband's second marriage, but probably by Mar 9,1670/1 when her sister Mary is referred to on her wedding day as the only daughter of John Turner.

Children: Richard Godfrey Jr, Jane Godfrey Woodward Cobb, John Godfrey, Susanna Godfrey Kettle, Alice Godfrey Holbrook, and Robert Godfrey.

He [Richard Godfrey] married, first, about 1650, ____ Turner, the daughter of John Turner Jr and Jane ____ Turner of Lynn,MA. Older genealogy sources indicate her name to have been "Jane", as she had a daughter and a mother with that name, but this has not been found and must be regarded as unproven for now.
