Mary is often given the middle name of "Elizabeth." Middle names were uncommon in this time and place and no documents are found which include the name Elizabeth.

Mary married Thomas Womack before 1712 in Henrico County.

"Thomas Womack of Henrico Co. to Richard Grills, of same County. 10 shill: sterl. 36 acres on N. side Swift Creek, taken out of a patent granted Capt. [John] Worsham dated 20 Octr. 1691. Augt. 1, 1712. Mary wife of sd. Thomas Womack relinquished her dower right."[1]

The inventory of his estate was "brought to appraisement" on 20 February 1733/4 and presented in Henrico Court on "1 Monday in April 1734" by Mary Womeck Exetrx and was ordered to be recorded.[1]

On 5 August 1745 Mary Womack "is summoned to next Court to relieve William Robertson from his suretyship for her faithful performance of the administration on the estate of Thomas Womack decd."[1]

Mary is named in the will of her father, John Farley, dated 6 April 1754 by which she inherited his "Negro Dickboy." After her death the slave is to go to her brother, Francis Farley.[3][4]

On 7 July 1754 Mary Womack and her son Francis purchased 119 acres for £50 from John Roberts of Chesterfield County on the head of Licking Creek. On the same date Mary and son Francis "of Chesterfield Co." paid John Roberts £50 for 100 acres "adjoining Cold Water Run, north side of Swift Creek..."[5]

Notes

I have John Farley, Sr's daughter Mary married to Thomas Baugh and John Farley, Jr's daughter Mary Elizabeth married to Thomas Womack. The only data I have for John Farley III's marriage is the given name of his wife, Mary, which appears in John Farley, Jr's will.

Also I give the use of My Negro Dickboy to my Daughter Mary Womack during her life and after her Death I give and bequeath the said Negro Dickboy to my son Francis Farley and his Heirs forever.
