Biography

Mercy Standish, daughter of Alexander Standish and Sarah Alden,[1][2][3] was born before 1670, probably at Duxbury, Plymouth Colony.[2] She was a granddaughter of the following passengers on the Mayflower, 1620: Myles Standish, John Alden and Priscilla Mullins.

Marriage

Before 1686 (estimated birth of child) at Duxbury, Plymouth, Mercy married Caleb Samson, son of Henry Samson of the Mayflower and Ann Plummer. Caleb was born about 1658 at Duxbury.[2] He was granted land by the Town of Duxbury in 1686,[2] and was living there in 1710.[1] Caleb died at Duxbury before 3 March 1747.[2]

Alexander Standish in his 1702 will left to his daughter Mercy, wife of Caleb Samson, 5 shillings.[4]

Death

Mercy died between 17 May 1722, when she witnessed a deed[5], and 30 Jan 1728/29, when Caleb married his second wife.[2][6]
