Notes

the works by Thomas Jefferson Jackson See, written in 1913, based on his father's recollections.

Unfortunately TJJ confused the names of father and son in one case and the two original brothers in another case. Consequently it makes for a mess to untangle. In a nutshell here it is the story. Hope it isn't too confusing.

TJJ confused the names of the two original brothers, Frederick and Michael calling them Michael and Adam respectively. Frederick See, whom TJJ calls Michael, was killed by Indians in Greenbrier Co, VA/WV in 1763.

The real Michael whom TJJ calls Adam, was your Adam's father and was killed by lightning in 1795

Based on VA records, they had at least 3 other brothers, George, John, and Simon.

Although TJJ and many of the descendants of Michael See and Barbara Harness/Ernst refer to the patriarch as "Adam" See, EVERY official document refers to him as Michael, no mention ever of being called "Adam."
