Notes
The standard genealogy doesn't have a Michael David Troyer, Jr. However, two things argue that he must have existed.
The first problem with the standard genealogy is that Michael David Troyer, Sr. has way more children, and at a much later point in life, than he should. The typical pattern of births for middle-aged couples is that the frequency of children declines, and later children are also much more likely to die as babies. We see no such effect with the senior Troyer family; indeed, the birth frequency *increases* in the 1770's with the standard genealogy. This is a warning that something is wrong. Usually what is wrong is that two similarly-named generations have been collapsed together. I am assuming that is what has happened in this case.
The second problem is that we have a DNA relationship to explain, with descendants of Elizabeth Miller unquestionably descended from a specific family in York County, Pennsylvania. Other options seem to be limited for the known Troyers, and there appears to be no room for an unknown first wife for either of the two Miller generations in question.
There is a third problem, which is that there are way too many Pennsylvania-born Troyers to fit into the existing families that are described in the standard genealogy. This may be a place for those orphan profiles that obviously do not belong in the place they are currently assigned.
DNA analysis
For the full logic behind the DNA analysis, please refer to the overview notes for David J. Miller, I .
No headstone exists. It is assumed that Michael Troyer and his wife are buried in this cemetery. There are 2 Holmes County, Ohio land transactions in 1836 involving Michael Troyer. Michael Troyer died around 1838. In the early 1970's there were still numerous depressions in the surface of the northeast part of Levi L Yoder Farm Cemetery (Troyer Valley Cemetery). There are no inscribed markers for a number of members of the early Troyer families one would expect to find in this cemetery.
