MOSES MICAH SOULE son of John was born in Duxbury Mass around 1669.

He married in Duxbury around 1700, Mercy Southport [sic: Southworth] daughter of Edward and Mary (Peabody) Southport [sic: Mary Pabodie]. She was a descendant of pilgrim John Alden.

They lived near Island Creek. He was quite wealthily and was a large landholder in several towns.

Mercy died in Duxbury before Jan 1729.

Moses married second in Duxbury 15 Jan 1729 Sarah Chandler daughter of Joseph and Mary (Hunt) Chandler. She was born in Duxbury 25 Oct 1714. When they married he was around 60 years old, she was 15. Moses died in Duxbury before Jan 1748. Sarah died in North Yarmouth Maine 28 April 1737 and was buried in the Old Pioneer Cemetery in North Yarmouth.

Biography

Moses Soule, son of John Soule and Rebecca (Simmons) Soule, and grandson of Mayflower immigrant, George Soule, was born in Duxbury, Massachusetts about 1672[1] .

Moses married twice. His first wife and mother of his children was Mercy Southworth, (married Duxbury about 1700/01). Mercy was born in Duxbury about 1678 and died probably in Duxbury before 15 Jan 1729/30. She was daughter of Edward and Mary (Pabodie) Southworth. Edward names her daughter Mercy wife of Moses Soule[1].

His second wife, married 15 Jan 1729/30, in Duxbury, was Sarah Chandler (c.1689-before 4 Sept 1749)[1].

Probate

Moses left no will dying intestate. His son Isaac was appointed administrator of his estate on 25 January 1748/9.[2]

His inventory was taken on 15 February 1748/49 at Duxbury.[3]

"On 4 September 1749 the Probate Court approved the division of the estate to Isaac (eldest son), Cornelius, Barnabas, Abigail the only child of Ichabod Soule, Gideon, Jedediah, and Ruth Soule; and to Else (Alice) the wife of Barnabas Perry, and Deborah Hunt."[1][4]

In 1751 an account of his estate was recorded.[5]
