Notes

NOTE: The maiden name of Moses Simmons' wife is not known. Some sources identify her as Sarah Chandler, the daughter of Roger Chandler, as his wife, but Sarah Chandler married Solomon Leonard. Edmund Chandler also had a daughter Sarah Chandler. There is no contemporary record that confirms a marriage between Moses Simmons and Sarah Chandler. Therefore I am reattaching the correct mother for Rebecca.

Rebecca Simmons was born about 1635 (1630/1632/1634/1635). She died probably at Duxbury, probably between 1675 (aprox date of birth of her last child) and 1678 (when John remarried).[1]

We know she was the daughter of Moses and Sarah Simmons and alive in 1674. In a deed dated 30 Dec 1674, Moses Simmons in "consideration of a marriage heretofore consummated between John soul of Duxbury and my eldest daughter, Rebecca" gave John land in Middleboro.[1] The Mayflower Society believes she probably died in Duxbury.[1]
