About Nancy White
Disproved Relationships
Some researchers believe Nancy married Joseph Hanks, son of William. Some believe Nancy and Joseph were the parents of Nancy Hanks, mother of Abraham Lincoln. Other researchers believe Nancy's sister Lucy and James Hanks are the parents of Nancy Hanks.
This was resolved by 2016 MT DNA studies showing there is no blood link between Shipleys and Lincoln’s.

Barton's final statement on the alleged Mary Shipley, page 182: "There is not a dot on an i nor the cross of a t in any contemporary record to show that Abraham Lincoln of Virginia had any other wife than Bathsheba. Mary Shipley Lincoln is a fictitious character."
