Biography
Margaret and Nancy are fifth cousins 8 times removed
James was born to John and Katherine Elizabeth (Wheaton) Winter in 1636-7 in Massachusetts.
He married Margaret Cromwell around 1654 and together they would have the following children (Note - Christening records have father listed as Obadiah, not James):
William Winter (1654-1733)
John Winter (1655-1733) Josiah Winter (1669-1733) Hester Winter, (1671-), bpt Oct 10 1671, Woodbridge, Middlesex, New Jersey [1] Obadiah Winter (1673-1734), bpt Oct 10 1673 in Woodbridge, Middlesex, New Jersey [2] James Obadiah passed away in 1675 at around 38 years of age in New Jersey [3]
Research Notes
Profile was originally created with Birth Location of Middletown, New Jersey, which was removed and changed to New Netherland, the name for the area before Middletown was created. No source has been found for his birth yet. His parents were in Massachusetts, not New Jersey. His siblings were born in Massachusetts, not New Jersey, so he was 'probably' born in Massachusetts, although no sources have been found
Christening sources found for his children list their father as Obadiah, not James or James Obadiah. Other sources also had Obadiah
