MEMORIAL PHOTOS 13 FLOWERS 1 Muriel Miller was born on Christmas day, 1896. Her parents owned a small farm near Sedgwick, Kansas. In 1905, the family, which now included a younger sister, Marjorie, moved to Santa Cruz, California. They moved back to Sedgwick six years later.

Muriel graduated from Newton High School in 1916. She also attended Bethel College and the Emporia Teacher's College. She taught school near Valley Center, Kansas.

On June 10, 1920, she married George Dewey Miller at her parent's home near Sedgwick. The couple then left to live in St. Louis. There she gave birth to their first three children: George Edward, Robert Anderson, and Marjorie Ellen.

In 1927, Muriel and the children moved back to her family farm in Sedgwick, where her fourth child, Maurice Gene, was born. Dewey remained in St Louis and lived with his parents. Muriel and her children managed the farm with her mother after her father died in 1929.

Muriel was still living on the farm when she died of pneumonia in 1957.
