Funeral Services for O. S. Smith Held Sunday at Coughlin Funeral Home. The death of O. S. Smith occurred at the St. Joseph hospital, Kansas City, July 24th, where he underwent a major operation.
Oscar Smith, son of Philip and Lucy Smith, was born in Adams County, Illinois, November 23, 1858. He was married to Stella Jennie in January 1, 1883. Mrs. Smith departed this life 1884, leaving an infant son who died at the age of two months. February 10, 1898, was married to Cora Hodge. To this union was born two sons, one dying in infancy. He leaves a wife, of Arnold, Nebr., a son, Harold Smith of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Bell Winner, Kansas City ; Mrs. Josephine Moore, of Mansfied, Mo.; two brothers, William Smith of Wellsville and Ed Smith of LeLoup.
The funeral services were held at the Coughlin funeral home Sunday afternoon, at two o'clock. Reverand H. E. McLeod officiated. The quartet of the M. E. New Hope church consisting of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Lidikay, Mrs. T. B. Ford and R. L. Lancaster sang "Rock of Ages," " Beautiful Isle of Somewhere,: and "Jesus Lover of My Soul." Accompaniment by Mrs. George Pence . Interment was in the Wellsville Cemetery.
