Passmore West

There are two Passmore Wests. One is born in 1803 or 1804 and the other one is born in 1768. They may be Father and Son or Uncle and Nephew.

William West of Belmont OH was in Wood County WV near one of the Passmore Wests and one of the Passmore Wests was in Gallia Belmont OH where the other Wests live.

Passmore West is related to the Artist Benjamin West. The West family in this discussion matches the DNA of this family with 25 markers matching perfectly. The first Passmore died very young at age 30. The second Passmore ends up living in Ohio near other Wests and they in turn are in the area that Passmore came from.

Origins

After the death of his first wife, William West remarried on 11 June 1767 to Hannah Shaw. She was born 1735 in Reading, Berkshire, England; her death date is not known. She was the daughter of John Shaw and Hannah Passmore.

The four or five children of William West and Hannah Shaw were:

1. Passmore West. Born abt Abt 1769 at Upper Darby, Chester, PA.
2. Samuel West. Born Feb.13, 1771 at Chester, PA. Married Mary Pusey.
3. Hannah West. Born abt 1773 at Upper Darby, Chester, PA.
4. Sarah ‘Sallie’ West. Born abt 1777 at Chester, PA.

He died 06 December 1808 at Darby, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States.
