Peter Lawson, 1799, Russell County, Virginia 50 acres, south side of Glade Hollow and adjancet to Cornelius Roberts, Grant 41, page 334.
It is believed that Jacob, Reuben, Morman (or Moreman) and Peter were also sons of Bartlett and Susanna Lawson, however there is no proof to date. Moreman and Jacob’s information given in Revolutionary Pension Applications states they were both born in Bedford County, Virginia, January 1751 and 1761 respectively; they both lived in the Pittsylvania, Henry and Patrick Counties, Virginia at the same time William was there and both moved to Hawkins County, Tennessee and died there on 16 September and 5 September 1833 respectively. The following were found in early Hawkins County records: Jacob, William, Reuben, Moreman, Peter, Isham, and Bart Lawson. Lawson Letters, Newsletter #9, pages 64 and 65 and Newsletter #21, page 181.
Warrant for 100 acres issued to David Losscon/Lawson, heir of Peter Losscen/Lawson a soldier in the 2nd Virginia Rgmt. 4 October 1779 Henrico County, Virginia.
Peter Lawson is enumerated in the 1830 Monroe County, Tennessee Census. In his household are 3 males 5-10; 1 male 20-30; 1 male 60-70; 1 female under 5; 1 female 10-15; 2 females 15-20; 1 female 20-30; 1 female 30-40; and 1 female 50-60.
Listed in the Deeds Records, Hawkins County, Tennessee 1792 - 1838. Record book 6, page 23, 1 November 1807 (Registered 28 December 1807); John King Sr. of Hawkins County to Peter Lawson for $200, 100 acres adjacent William Runnels and William Lawson. Andrew McWilliams and Nancy King, witnesses. Lawson Letters, Newsletter #9, pages 65.
From a Will dated 5 Dec 1834, McMinn County, Wills and Records, Athens Tennessee, Nelson Lawson, Adm. and CR 3 411, 2 Dec 1834 James Maddy vs. Peter Lawson. Isom Lawson (Stephen's brother) states that "sometime before 17 September last, Robert Stubblefield brought Peter Lawson to his house sick and with him a chest. After Peter died he got a key and opened the chest, found $244 in cash and a note on Nelson Lawson executed to George Smith. Lawson Newsletter #11, page 87 and No. 35, page 343. - Carl Lawson
