Phares Martin

Phares Martin, 77, East Earl, died Thursday at 6:l5 p.m. at his home following a lengthy illness. He had been under the care of a physician.

Born in East Earl Township, he was a son of the late Frank Z. and Annie Martin Martin. He was a husband of Susie H. Gehman Martin.

He was a member of Weaverland Mennonite Church.

Besides his widow, at home, he is survived by three daughters and four sons: Lydia, wife of Allen K. Martin, Stevens R1; Mildred, wife of John Hollinger, East Earl R2; Raymond G., East Earl; Phares G., Landisville; Eugene G., Ephrata; Irene, wife of Dale Weaver, New Holland; and Floyd G., East Earl.

Twenty one grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive along with five sisters and one brother: Miss Anna Mae Martin, Samaritian Home, New Holland R2; Mrs.Martha Weaver, Frank M. Martin, both of East Earl; Mrs. Stella Zimmerman, Fairmount Rest Home, Ephrata R2; Alta, wife of Paul Hoover, and Edna, wife of Irvin Gingrich, both of New Holland.
