Amos parents:

From Woodworth book, Caleb Woodworth 1704-1775 born Lebanon, New London, CT where his baptism is listed in church records, married 1727 Lebanon to Jane MUNGER, (1704-1774) listed in land records until 1735.

According to History of Litchfield county, Connecticut by Lewis, J.W., & Co., Philadelphia. pub 1881, Caleb was the first white man with a family to settle in the neighborhood of the Ore Hill (Salisbury) 1738 as did sister Judith (Thos) NEWCOMB. 1739 Thos Newcomb sold 100 acres to Caleb,

1758 he was appointed surveyor of roads, their sons served Rev. War.

Amos and Eunice NEWLAND met, married 4-12-1764 and had their 12 children in Saratoga Co.

Then in 1801 (per Oneida book) moving 140 miles west to Camden, Oneida Co, NY. , where they lived broke off to be Florence, NY. many of his children living in Rome, NY. Their daughter, Catherine, married a WIGGINS in Stillwater, and moved to Westenville and they followed or vice-versa.

No Will for Amos in the state of NY.

Woodward was original English surname, changed to Woodworth by his grandfather Benjamin Woodward-Woodworth per his father's 1685 Will at Scituate, MA, as did his siblings.
