Rollins Annis served as a Private in Capt. J. Collins' Company, Lieut. Col. E. Sherwin's Regiment of Massachusetts (Maine) Militia during the War of 1812. This company served from September 24 to November 9, 1814 at Wiscasset.
"All through the summer of 1814, British ships patrolled the Maine coastline and sent landing parties ashore to harass the militia. Several British incursions near Wiscasset were deterred by prompt militia response."
He was probably housed at Fort Edgecomb at Wiscasset.
