Redegon Clap {q.v. Clapp}, dau. of Nicholas Clap & Elizabeth Pile, bapt. May 7, 1609 at Sidbury in Devonshire, England. She d. Dec. 10, 1645, Æ 37, at Dorchester, Mass.

On Oct. 20, 1637 prob. at Dorchester, Mass., Redegon m. as his first wife, Dea. John Capen, only surviving s. of Bernard Capen & Joan Purchase to immigrate to New England. He was bapt. Jan. 26, 1612/3 at Dorchester in Dorset, England and d. Apr. 4, 1692, Æ 80, at Dorchester, Mass. They had the following two children at Dorchester, Mass.:

• i. Joanna Capen, b. Oct. 3, 1638 (bapt. Nov. 4); d. an infant on Nov. 19, 1638.

• ii. Lieut. John Capen, Jr., b. Oct 21, 1639 (bapt. Oct. 29), d. June 8, 1707, Æ 68, at Dorchester, Mass.; m. Nov. 19, 1663 Susanna Barsham, dau. of William & Annabell Barsham of Watertown, Mass., b. Jan. 28, 1641/2. She survived her husband. Twelve children of the family.
