The first three, Sylvester, Henry, and Richard, are to be found in Charles Candee Baldwin's The Baldwin Genealogy From 1500 to 1881 (pub. 1881). See also, Joseph L. On the death of his father Richard took over the lease of Dundridge Manor. In 1541 the Countess of Salisbury died and the Manor was returned to the monarchy under control of Henry VIII, he did not disturb the tenancy of Richard and Ellen.

Henry VIII gifted or sold the manor to Sir John Baldwin in 1544, he died in 1545 and left the manor in the charge of Sir Robert Pakington who in 1579 passed it over to Henry Baldwin -Richards eldest son. Making Henry not just the tenant of Dundridge Manor but the official Lord of Dundridge Manor.

Richard is the youngest son, but by the writing of his will, he is well established at Dundridge. From the will of his father, Robert, it would appear that the rights to Dundridge had gone to the heir of the estate, the eldest son, John. However, from records, John becomes established at the Hale, and the next son Thomas, who dies young, is established in Wendover. At this point we have not found a clue as to the events that lead to Richard's obtaining Dundridge.3 He made his will the 16th of January in the 6th year of Edward VI [1553].

On the death of his father Richard took over the lease of Dundridge Manor. In 1541 the Countess of Salisbury died and the Manor was returned to the monarchy under control of Henry VIII, he did not disturb the tenancy of Richard and Ellen.

Henry VIII gifted or sold the manor to Sir John Baldwin in 1544, he died in 1545 and left the manor in the charge of Sir Robert Pakington who in 1579 passed it over to Henry Baldwin -Richards eldest son. Making Henry not just the tenant of Dundridge Manor but the official Lord of Dundridge Manor. -------------------- Richard is the youngest son, but by the writing of his will, he is well established at Dundridge. From the will of his father, Robert, it would appear that the rights to Dundridge had gone to the heir of the estate, the eldest son, John. However, from records, John becomes established at the Hale, and the next son Thomas, who dies young, is established in Wendover. At this point we have not found a clue as to the events that lead to Richard's obtaining Dundridge.3 He made his will the 16th of January in the 6th year of Edward VI [1553].

Richard was laid to rest in the Churchyard in the Parish of Aston Clynton, Buckinghamshire, England. Richard departed this life at Dundridge Manor in the Parish of Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, England. The Baldwins came from the County of Buckinghamshire in England, about 30 miles northwest of London, where they resided in the late 1400's. Their history unquestionably goes back earlier than that and is, at least to some degree, traceable to the 1200's if not earlier.
