It does not seem possible for Richard Ingram, of Johnston County to have been born in Johnston County, NC in 1715, who married Annie Moon, to have been the son of John Ingram, b Abt 1696 (son of Charles Ingram & Elizabeth Dameron) and Hannah Pines of Brunswick County, Virginia; they did not own land there. Their son Richard Ingram, born 1738, was bequeathed land in Lunenburg County: “Item I, give and Bequeath to my Son Richard INGRAM, three Hundred Acres of Land in Luninburgh County being the other part of the said Six Hundred Acres I, bought of SMITH To him and his Heirs forever ~. In this will he names his wife Annie Ingram and children John Ingram, Abner Ingram, William Ingram, Pheriby Ingram, Mary Lee and Zilphia Avera. He named sons John and William to be his executors. The will of Richard Ingram was probated during the February Court of 1781, which indicates that he died in 1781 in Johnston County, North Carolina.

Richard Ingram had his will prepared on December 5, 1780 in Johnston County, North Carolina. In his will he left to “my well beloved wife Annie Ingram the plantation wherein I now live and all my personal estate for to be possessed with and enjoy during her widowhood. Also four Negros, Violet, Rachel, Tom, and Penny also all my stock of horses, cattle, and hogs all the above mentioned property.”
