<p>When he was about 80, Robert saddled up, on horseback, with Isacc, Parks,Josiah, Ryland and Partheny and headed for Wilson Co., Tennessee. they went at least 400 miles, over rugged mountains, through the Cumberland Gap, and past unquiet Indian towns to Nashville barely out of the French Lick stage.</p><p> </p><p>The Chandler Family Association Newsletter, June 1994, Volume IV Number 2.</p><p>* He was in Goochland Co., VA Tithe Lists in 1746/1748 and in the same location in Cumberland Co., VA (formed 1749).</p><p>* In 1754 (Cumberland Co., VA, WB1, p100) and 1764 (Cumberland Co., DB4,p11).</p><p>* 1767 Pittsylvania Co. Tithe list</p><p>* 1770 Henry Co. Tithe List (same location as before, formed from Pittsylvania Co. (OB1, p215)* Wilks Co., North Carlolina in the 1796 NCstate census.</p><p>* Wilkes Co., North Carolina 1790 US Census.</p><p>* He died in 1805 in Wilson Co., Tennessee leaving a will.</p><p>* There is a sketch of him in "Thomas Powell and John Hardman", Vol II,1985,by George Powell. His bible records survive in the Revolutionary pension papers of his son Josiah.</p><p> </p><p>Bet. 1767 - 1768 - Listed as a Justice of the Chauncery Court, appointedby Gov. Fauquier.</p><p>February 1768 - Sworn in as Captain of Militia, Pittsylvania, Virginia.</p><p>30 August 1777 - Pledged allagiance to Virginia, against the British.</p><p>1778 - Resigned as Justice, Vestryman, Militia cpt., and Surveyor.</p><p>1778 - Moved to Wilkes, North Carolina.</p>Bef. 1790 - Moved to Laurens, Suoth Carolina.
