The following obituary comes from "The News-Herald," Wednesday, January 21, 1981, Page 24:
“Robert L. Anthony
Robert L. Anthony, 55, of Spartansburg RD 2, died at 9 p.m. Monday in the Titusville Hospital.
He was born in 1925 in Oil Creek Township, Venango County a son of the late James R. and Ella Westfall Anthony. He was married to the former Caroline V. Vanderhoff in Titusville Oct. 15, 1971.
Mr. Anthony was a lumberman most of his life and was recently employed as a guard for Daub Security and Detective Agency of Erie.
During World War II he served with the Army, including duty in Europe under General Patton.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Robin) Odach of Seward, Alaska, and Miss Roberta L. Anthony, at home; four sons, Lawrence W. Anthony of Piqua, Ohio; Daryl R. White of Edinboro; Kenneth K. and David H. Anthony, at home; two grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. John (Sara) Howe of Harborcreek; Mrs. Roy (Jennie) Vanderhoff of Spartansburg; Mrs. Clyde (Edith) Walters, Titusville RD 2; Mrs. David (Lillan) Hart and Mrs. Henry (Ella) Vargason of Titusville; two brother, Charles L. Anthony of Pleasantville, and Earl H. of Spartansburg.
Four brothers and one sister are deceased.
Funeral services will be Thursday from the Hennes Funeral Home, Titusville.”
