The following obituary was taken from "The News-Herald," Thursday, March 13, 1980, Page 24, Column 3:
"Ernest W. Anthony
Ernest Wayne Anthony, 58, of Pleasantville RD2, died at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday in his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born July 12, 1921, in Pleasantville, a son of James R. and Ella Westfall Anthony.
He married the former Ruth Irene Kope on Oct. 13, 1944, in Centerville. She survives.
Mr. Anthony was a World War II veteran. For a number of years he worked as a lumberman. In recent years he was employed by Hasbrouck Scrap Iron, before retiring in 1977 due to ill health.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Wayne L. Anthony of Titusville, and Mark Anthony of Pleasantville RD 2; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Geraldine) Rigby of Titusville; six grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Anthony and James Anthony, both of Pleasantville, and Earl Anthony and Robert Anthony, both of Spartansburg; five sisters, Mrs. Clyde (Edith) Walters of Titusville RD 2, Mrs. Jennie Vanderhoff of Spartansburg RD 2, Mrs. Lillian Hart and Mrs. Henry (Ella) Vargason, both of Titusville, and Mrs. Sarah Howe of Erie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and one sister are deceased.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, Titusville."
