About Rosa Glucklich
Rosa Schwartzkopf Glucklich (1857-1915)
Rosa Schwartzkopf was the daughter of Dora Block Schwartzkopf and Louis Schwartzkopf. Information from her father’s probate records, now online at the Missouri Secretary of State web site, indicate that she was born April 26, 1856. Information from her burial records state she was born April 9, 1857. She was one of two girls, her sister was Zizilie who took the name Celia. Her brothers were Frank and Leopold. She died in 1915.
On August 16, 1874 she married Isaac Glucklich in St. Louis. They evidently had a son named Royal Glucklich as he was named in the will of Abram Block from the 1890's as his nephew living in La Cygne Kansas. He got his scarf pin. Abram was one of the two brothers of Dora Block.
Isaac was born August 10, 1848 in Kracow Poland/Austria. He died April 7, 1926 according to the death records at the Pine Lawn Jewish Cemetery, formerly the Hebrew Burial Ground in Fort Scott, Kansas. According to the 1900 Census he arrived in the US in 1865. There is a record at www.castlegarden.org of an arrival of Isaack Glueckanf at age 16 on July 31, 1865 in New York on the immigrant ship New York. Isaack was born in Bohemia. He sailed from Bremen. His country was Austria.
A son of Rosa and Isaac, Louis Glucklich, born June 2, 1875 and died on 28 November 1893 at age 18 years. They also had an infant who died one day old on May 21, 1888. Children also included Rosa who died in California in 19xx. Penny Short said there was a daughter called Aunt Sadie that her Grandmother Fischer liked a lot. Sadie M. Glucklich was born in Kansas on July 31, 1889 and died in San Bernardino California on January 9, 1979.
This will also mentions the town of Blue Mound, Kansas, the place of residence of Louis Fischer, the husband of her sister Celia Schwarzkopf Fischer. And nearby is Pleasanton, the home of Agnes Berwin, the daughter of Dora and Samuel Berwin, who was Rosa and Celia's halfsister.
She was mentioned in the death notices of her mother Dora Block Schwartzkopf Berwin and her step-father Samuel Berwin in 1913.
Her mother married Louis Schwartzkopf in 1854. He died in 1863.
