About Samuel Allen

Note: This is not the profile for (1) Samuel Allen of England and Braintree, (2) his son Samuel Allen of Bridgewater, (3) Samuel Allen of Northampton, who married Hannah Woodford, or (4) Samuel Allen of Salem

Katherine's three youngest children moved to Boston when Katherine married John Collins. The deed from "Henerey and Samuell Allin of Boston" to George Alline of Sandwidge, land in Sandwich given by father George Allin dec'd, deed with consent "of our mother to say now Kathren Collins who hath interest therin during her life," deed witnessed by John Collins, shows that Henry and Samuel were in Boston then.

I think that Samuel moved to Fairfield CT and sold two lots in 1663, the next town to Milford CT where Samuel's brothers Henry & Gideon went. There are no records of when Samuel arrived in Fairfield. The second deed shows that Samuel had a wife named Mary:

Samuell Allen and Mary his wife sold to Robert Merac(Meeker?) of ffairfield, 2½ acres, bounded on the West with a highway, the north with the Common, the east with Thomas Pell land, on the southeast with the land of John Grumnn(?), with all housing _enring and trees theron. This is passed over by a deed signed, Samuell Allen and Mary Allen signed by marks, witness Nathan Gold, deed dated 16 July 1663 (Fairfield, Fairfield Co., CT, Land records, Family History Library, film 0004273, item 1, v. A or 1, 1649-1694, part 1,p. 142).

Samuel's brother Henry Allen was first recorded in New Haven, CT, on 7 Dec, 1658, and was granted liberty to choose land in Milford, CT, on Jan 9 1660/1. Samuel's brother Gideon Allen moved to Milford, CT, by 1668, about 10 years after Henry.

There are also records that suggest that Samuel was in Rye (now White Plains) NY in 1662, sold the land in Fairfield CT in 1663, and moved to Great Neck, Hempstead, Long Island, NY in 1664. Unfortunately, there are no records to tie Samuel of Boston to Samuel of Rye, Fairfield, or Hempstead, so this is only a suggestion. I added a file of the records in the Sources for this suggestion (https://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000082532109833).
