About Samuel Sanford, II, of Newtown
Christening: 14 MAR 1680 Milford, New Haven County, CT In 1691 Samuel, age 12, was named in the inventory of the estate of Samuel Sanford of Milford. Samuel and Esther joined First Church of Milford in Febnruary 1710. In 1711 they removed to Newtown, Fairfield County, Connecticut. In 1712 Samuel received permission to put a grist mill on Pond Brook. In 1714 he had a grant of land on Potatuck River for a mill "for to grinde ye towne graine". On 3 February 1724/1725, he was mentioned in the will of his brother Thomas of Milford: children of brother Samuel of Newtown, viz: eldest son Nathaniel and Samuel. The will of Samuel Sanford of Newtown is dated 17 February 1728/1729.
