About Samuel Sanford, III, of Milford
On 3 February 1724/25 he was mentioned as Samuel, child of brother Samuel of Newtown, in the will of Thomas Sanford of Milford.
Samuel bought his house of the Indians, and it was occupied by his descendants until 1905. His tombstone in Newtown cemetery reads: "In memory of Mr. Samuel Sanford, who died Mac. ye 7th, 1758 in ye 54th year of his age."
On 7 April 1758, Thomas and Amos Sanford were appointed administrators of their father's estate. The estate was distributed 8 December 1758 to widow Hannah and children Thomas, Amos, Hezekiah, Samuel and Lois Sanford and Sarah Platt. (Danbury probate 2:75-103) Mary, James and Hannah died before their father.
