About Sarah 'Sally' Allgood
Biography
Sarah "Sally" Willis, daughter of Richard Willis and Anne Crowder, was born 1760 in in Mecklenburg County, Colony of Virginia, and died 9 Sep 1829 at about age 69 in Walton County, Georgia, USA.
She married John Young Allgood about 1780. He was the son of William Allgood and Mary Ann Haymes.

Sarah Willis was the daughter of Richard Willis and Ann Crowder. Her Brother William Willis, died in Apr 1793 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. A lawsuit filed Joseph Hughes over a tract of land sold to him by William where the deed had not been filed names Sally (Willis) Allgood and her siblings. A later lawsuit was filed against Captain Howel Rose and Mary (Pulliam) Willis Rose, William's Widow in 1805. The Allgoods were living in Elbert County, Georgia at that point.

There were two Chancery lawsuits in Halifax and Mecklenburg Counties of Virginia concerning the heirs of William Willis, deceased.
The first lawsuit was filed in Halifax Co on about August 1794 and was Joseph Hughes, paintiff vs Mary Willis, heirs of William Willis, Richard Willis, John Willis, Edward Willis, Sterling Willis, Drury Willis, Thomas Willis, William Hopewood and Ann his wife, John Allgood and Sarah his wife, Elizabeth Daniel an orphan of Thomas Daniel and Elizabeth his wife.
This lawsuit sued the heirs of William Willis for the upkeep of Elizabeth Daniel, orphan of Thomas and Elizabeth Daniel. William and Mary Willis were her guardians. In May 1796, the case was found in favor of Thomas Daniels and the Willis heirs lost a farm in Halifax County.
The second lawsuit was filed in Mecklenburg County, Virginia by the heirs of William Willis against Howell Rose and Mary his wife (former widow of William Willis), administrator of William Willis, deceased in about 1799. The defendants named were Richard Willis, William Hopwode and Nancy his wife, Sherwood Wilis, Thomas Daniel and Elizabeth his wife, John Willis, Sterling Willis, Edward Willis, Drury Willis, Thomas Willis, Anna Willis, John Algood and Sarah his wife. These were siblings of William Willis not children
The second case was settled in favor of the heirs in 1811.

Sarah (Willis) Allgood's mother, Mary (Pulliam) Willis, married Captain Howel Rose in Granville County, North Carolina in 1795 after her father, William Willis, died in 1793. Sally (Willis) Allgood and her siblings instituted a law suit agains Captain Howel Rose and Mary (Pulliam) Willis Rose in 1805. The Allgoods were living in Elbert County, Georgia at that point:
"Know all men by these presents that we, John Allgood and Sarah Allgood of Elbert County, State of Georgia, do appoint Robert Burton of Mecklenburg County, State of Virginia, our lawful attorney to sue for, recover, and to receive all that is due us from the estate of William Willis, deceased, of Mecklenburg County, as our proportionate part of said estate both real and personal." Dated 12 November, 1805. Recorded 19 August 1811. [Mecklenburg County Deed Book 14, pg 447]
