"Daniel Stewart (85) died in Charles Co. MD. in 1766, his first wife Sarah Roby, whose mother was Sarah Smallwood of Thomas, of Col. James Smallwood. At age of 71 he married a second time a widow "Mary" age 60, his will is recorded in Charles Co. MD. L:34,F133 now at Annapolis, MD."

there was a Sarah Roby b abt 1689 d/o John roby b 1648 and Sarah hines Luckett that married edward Darnell. this record shows that relationship

We discharge Sarah Roby of CC, the relict of John Roby Sr, late of CC, now decd, from all legacies that may or shall be due from the sd Sarah Roby to us on the acct or estate of sd John Roby. Signed Aug 29, 1726 - John Roby, Edwd (X his mark) Darnell, Thos Roby, John (IW his mark) Wornell, Wm (X his mark) Roby, Richard (R his mark) Roby, Michael Hinds (M his mark) Roby, John Henly, Joseph (I his mark) Gardiner, George Gibbens, Ralph Roby, Danl (X his mark) Howard.

then there is the Sarah Roby that married Daniel Stewart. Girls married at 16 nearly 99% of the time unless they were widows. working backward she could have been born 1680-1689

in this record it appears Brother Thomas Roby and his son Alexander had a blood relationship. Therefore Sarah is placed as a daughter of John Roby (1748-1726) Thomas was probably styled SR as there was another Thomas b1712 son of John Roby and Sarah Smallwood and died 1776 in Rowan County, NC.

To children hereafter mentioned, Thomas Steward, James Steward, William Steward, Roby Steward, Anne Young, Sarah Hamilton, Charity McGraw and Rebeckah McDaniel, remaining part of my estate.
Whereas Mary my wife did while she was a widow and when a treaty of marriage was had between us, to wit on 16 Jan 1748/9, enter into a bond relative thereunto payable to Robey Seward In the sum of 50 lbs sterling to which I refer my ex.

Ithis means that John could have had two daughters named Sarah one probably from an earlier wife since we know Benjamin was born before 1684
