Sarah Fagelah Kossin

GEDCOM Note

With her husband and older sister Hannah Rushe, Sarah ran a saloon in Kalvarija, Lithuania. Although there were pogroms, things were going so well at the saloon, she did not want to emigrate to the U.S., but was finally convinced by her husband. Sarah left from Hamburg on March 29, 1906, with her four younger children - Samson, Leon, Minnie and Tillie, on the Kaiser Augusta Victoria, arriving into the port of New York. Her children Benjamin and Rohama were born in New York. Sarah died in 1928 at Mt. Sinai Hospital on Fifth Ave during an operation. She is buried with her husband Wolf Kossin in Union Field cemetery, Queens, New York.
