Ebenezer, William's second son, was born on October 7, 1747, and three more sons followed- Silas, Jonathan, and Isaac. The Zane brothers became explorers and quickly adapted to the fluctuating alliances of local Indian tribes-mainly the Wyandots and Delawares.

13. JONATHAN6 ZANE (WILLIAM ANDREW5, NATHANIEL4, ROBERT3, ROBERT SR.2, SIMON1) was born 1749 in Moorefield, Virginia, and died 10 October 1823 in Wheeling, Virginia. He married HANNAH MILLS 1777.
