Simeon Zane

DAR Ancestor #: A130552. Patriotic service.

Ebenezer, William's second son, was born on October 7, 1747, and three more sons followed- Silas, Jonathan, and Isaac. The Zane brothers became explorers and quickly adapted to the fluctuating alliances of local Indian tribes-mainly the Wyandots and Delawares.

13. JONATHAN6 ZANE (WILLIAM ANDREW5, NATHANIEL4, ROBERT3, ROBERT SR.2, SIMON1) was born 1749 in Moorefield, Virginia, and died 10 October 1823 in Wheeling, Virginia. He married HANNAH MILLS 1777.

Children of JONATHAN ZANE and HANNAH MILLS are:

i. CATHERINE7 ZANE, b. 1776; m. (1) MR.UNKNOWN WILLS; m. (2) MR. UNKNOWN GREEN.

ii. ELIZA ZANE, b. 1776; m. UNKNOWN WILLIAMS.

iii. ISAAC ZANE, b. 1778; m. MARY FRIENCH, 1799.

Notes for ISAAC ZANE: Iassc Zane was owner of Marlboro Iron Works in VA. He died in 1795.

iv. ASA ZANE, b. 1780.

v. BENJAMIN ZANE, b. Aft. 1780; m. MARGARET CARRAWAY.

vi. HANNAH ZANE, b. Aft. 1780; m. (1) UNKNOWN SMITH, Bef. 1815; m. (2) BENJAMIN FAWCETT, 1816.

vii. NANCY ZANE, b. Aft. 1780; m. JOHN MILLER, 1808.

viii. CYNTHIA ZANE, b. 1793.
