"Sir James Sharp, Baronet [S. 1683], of Scotscraig, Stoniehill and Strathtyrum aforesaid, 1st s. and h., suc. to the Baronetcy in Jan. 1711/2 ; served heir to his father, 22 Oct. 1712, in the estates of Scotscraig and Stoniehill, and heir spec, to his grandfather, 24 Sep. 1719, in that of Strathtyrum. In 1728 he sold the estate of Stoniehill, and, about 1735, sold that of Scotscraig. He m. between 1707 and 11 Nov. 1718, Mary, widow of Gideon Scott, of Highchester (who d. 1707), da. of John (Drummond), 1st Earl of Melfort [S.], by his 1st wife, Sophia, da. and h. of Robert Maitland, of Lundin. He d. 25 April 1738. His widow d. 4 Oct. 1754."
