Biographical Summary
"Sir John Mackenzie, Baronet [S. 1673], of Coul, 1st s. and h. by 1st wife, b. in or before 1673 ; suc. to the 1715. Baronetcy in 1702; joined in the rising of 1715, and, not having rendered himself up to justice before 30 June 1716, was attainted, under the Act, 13 Nov, 1715. He m. firstly, Margaret, da. of Hugh Rose, of Kilravock. He m. secondly, in 1703, Helen (b. 27 Feb. 1683), 4th da. of Patrick (Murray), 3d Lord Elibank [S.], by Anne, da. of Alexander Burnet, Archbishop of St. Andrew's. He d. s.p.m. soon after 1715, the Baronetcy, by his abovementioned attainder in that year, having previously become forfeited."
