Biography
From Palmer Families in America, Volume 1.1, Samuel Palmer of Greenwich 1733-1825 compiled by Michael E. Palmer 2011 Stephen Palmer served in Captain George Peck's company within the 9th regiment of the Connecticut Militia from November 1, 1776 until January 8, 1777. This was the same 9th regiment his older brother Samuel served. The record says that Stephen was sick and was stationed in Greenwich as a guard. PFIA, p. 433-4: "Shortly after 1790 Stephen moved from Greenwich to the town of Mt. Pleasant, Westch. Co., N. Y., where he purchased land near the village of Pleasantville and continued there the rest of his life as a farmer."
