Susan was a Cherokee woman

Biography

Susan Cordery was born about 1807 in the part of the old Cherokee Nation that is now Forsyth.Georgia, the daughter of Thomas Cordery, a white man and Susannah Sonicooie, a Cherokee.

She married John Mosley about 1824. [1] The 1830 U.S. Census shows the family living next to Susan's brother David, sister Hettie, and sister-in-law Charlotte. [2] John and Susan were the parents of seven children: Mary, Hettie, Annie, Alfred, Delilah, Sarah and John. [3]

The family emigrated to Indian Territory before 1835. Susan appears on the 1851 "Old Settler" roll with her three youngest children. [4] Her date of death is unknown, but she appears on no further censuses.
