Thomas and Elizabeth ("of Bridgewater") married and lived in Taunton, where, in March 1667, Thomas had purchased land . In 1678 he was described as a 'husbandman,' and was the owner of land in the 'South Purchase.' His name appears in the list of 'the four squadrons ordered to bring theire armes to meeting on the Lord's day, in 1682. In 1689 he was one of the grantees named in the Bradford deed.

Harvey-3307: 6th gr-grandson of Thomas b.1641. Haplogroup is E-BY36895.
Harvey-3109 & 3308 (brothers): 7th gr-grandsons of Thomas Harvey b. 1641. (The brother's family terminal haplogroup is E-FT86986).
STR Testing Results
Harvey-16535: 6th gr-grandson of Thomas b.1641. Direct line male descent.
Harvey-3307: 6th gr-grandson of Thomas b.1641. STR match is 107/111 to H-1635.
Harvey-3109 & 3308 (brothers) are 7th gr-grandsons of Thomas Harvey b. 1641. Their STR match is 106/111 to Harvey-1635.
Harvey-3300: 8th gr-grandson of Thomas b. 1641. STR match is 64/67 to H-16535
Harvey-3549: 8th gr-grandson of Thomas b. 1641. STR match is 34/37 to the mode of all others at that level.
Now, we wait - hoping to find a direct line male descendant or ancestor of William Harvey of Taunton (Harvey-243) for Y-700 testing to confirm that the Thomas Harvey b. 1641 line is truly descended from William Harvey of Taunton.
I have decided to display current SNP & STR test results in this manner so that it will be easily understood that the relationship of Thomas Harvey b. 1641 to his purported father William Harvey of Taunton (b. 1614) is not verified via Y-DNA testing. ALSO, this question is further amplified by the fact that Thomas Harvey b. 1617, purported brother of William Harvey of Taunton, has been found to have a R haplogroup - not the E haplogroup exhibited by the Y-DNA tested descendants of Thomas Harvey b. 1641. I am quite elderly, have been working on this puzzle for many years. and sincerely hope this evidence display will allow someone to, someday, bring the truth to light. Thomas Harvey died in 1728, probably in Taunton (but not recorded in Taunton vital records).

James Donald Harvey, FTDNA kit #953247, (Y700 Terminal SNP E-FT208196) and his 7th cousins once removed, William Leonard Harvey, FTDNA kit #19310 and Donald Harvey, FTDNA kit # 0920643, (Y700 Terminal SNP E-FT86986). The brothers exhibit their familial terminal haplogroup at E-FT86986.
Paternal relationship is confirmed through Y-chromosome DNA test results on Family Tree DNA. Philip Harvey, FTDNA kit # 19670, and his 7th cousin, Jim Harvey, FTDNA kit # 0953247.
These four men are thus on an E haplogroup branch specifically identified as leading back to their most-recent common ancestor (MRCA) who is Thomas Harvey. Their STR match is at a Genetic Distance of 106 &107/111 markers.
