I have his birth as 1730 but his tombstone says 1724. Father married

Have writeup from "Stories of the Kanestio Valley" pg 49 for some of the
folowing info. Was in the Rev. War. (have) Also served in the French and
Indian War, in PA. and was at the relief of Fort William Henry under
command of his father, Capt. Uriah Stephens August 1757.
Between 1762 and 1766, left Ct. and later settled in Stillwater, NY: to
Northumberland Co., PA; thence to the Wyoming Valley. PA where he
was Key-keeper. After the Massacre, to Tioga Point (now called Athens);
then Newtown (now called Elmira) Elmira.
During the Revolution he and several others of the family were in the
bloody Wyoming Massacre of 1778 in PA. He and his son Phineas were on
scout duty when they saw the Indians coming in great numbers.

1772 packed their belongings and made the long trek to the center of the
Susquehanna settlement 1773 near Forty Fort (now Wilkes Barre) 7
children by now. (from age 2 to 18) Henry being deceased. His property
along the river was later named the Kingston District. Elias born about
the time the cabin was barely finished. 1774 he was elected one of 8
gatekeepers of Forty Fort. Indian raids were frequent and he was there
during the 3 July 1778 massacre and was still there 1780.
1781 went westward along the Susquehanna with brief stops at
scattered settlements. For 6 yrs they lived at Tioga Point and was
involved in the Land Claims 1 controversery. To escape the Ct-PA land
quarrel he moved up river into NY at Newtown (Elmira)
1785
1789 he and 2 sons, Uriah and John explored the Canisteo Valley and
purchased land there. The Ct Settlers at Westmoreland were driven from
that valley and on the Susquehannah Uriah arrived in the area of
Canisteo 25 Dec 1789.
Spring of 1790 with his family settled in what is now near the
Hornellsville area. March 1796 Canisteo was formed .
HIS WILL WAS WRITTEN 15 Jan 1800 and signed by his mark and
WITNESS- Joseph A. Rathburn (relative of his wife?)
WILL RECORDED 4 Oct 1800 (date ?) in Bath, Steuben, NY. (have)
DIED 2 Aug 1819 age 88. ?? might be 2 Aug 1800 (check this) ******
