Some records show that Anna Catharina "Katie" Sowers (1757-1838) also married Rudolph Younts (1750–1815). Is this true? Or are there two Katie's?

In Old German Section, very difficult to read: Valentine spelled "Voentein" on headstone.

From Records: b: 1751 d: 1814

This Valentine Leonard (Jr.) was the son of the orginal emigrant ancestor of the U.S. Leonards of this county.

His father, born 1718, d: in 1781, murdered at his home by a band of Tories following his service in the Revolution War. He married Elizabeth Wallacher in Pennsylvania and then settled in Davidson County, North Carolina.

He established the Leonhardt's Church with the help of his friend and neighbor Jacob Berrier in 1753-54 (now known as the Pilgrim Reformed Church).

This Valentine Leonard, II married Anna Catherine Sowers, the daughter of Phillip Sowers, b: 1757. The memorial headstone for "Philip Sauers/Sowers" is also found in this cemetery.

Note: Lexington was not founded until more than a quarter century after Valentine's birth. The area was a part of a huge Rowan County which was broken up into several smaller counties in the 1820's Davidson County was established in 1824.
