About Wallace Boyack
From notes of his mother Gertrude Mabel Boyack
Wallace was born at 11 pm on the 31st January 1912, Blackwood Street, Eastwood, Pretoria and christened in St Giles' cathedral in 1913.
He went to Arcadia Primary School 1918-1913 then on to Pretoria Boy's high school where he matriculated.
1930 he joined Topographical Survey Department in Pretoria and attended the university extramurally and obtained a B.
com degree in 1936.
1937 he resigned and joined the Internal Audit Department of the Johannesburg Consolidated Investment
Company.
1938 transferred to the JCI and was articled to the senior partners. The articles of clerkship were completed also the chartered accountant final examination in 1941'
1941 Joined Price Waterhouse Partners & Co Pretoria as a senior audit clerk.
1943 joined the SA Corps of Signals Army and after a course at a college, joined the reinforcements sent to Italy via Egypt. Received the rank of Corporal and joined the 13th motorized Brigade Signals Squadron.
Met Carla Lydia Maria Lucci (from Milan) whilst attending an army rehabilitation school at Rapalto (1945) on the Italian Riviera and after transferring from the SA Army to the Mission of the United Nations.
He married Carla on the 20th April 1946.
They had one son Alexander (Sandy) Carlo Murray born Tuesday 5th October 1948, Johannesburg and Carla died the following day at 5pm from complications of childbirth.
