About William A. Harter
Harter, Nellie A. The Emanuel Harter Family. p. 8.:
William, third child born to Emanuel and Mary Ann Harter, was such a puny baby at birth that his parents thought he would not live, hence did not give him a middle name. He did survive and in maturity took the letter A as a middle initial. He was married to Eliza Ellen Peters, daughter of Christian and Mary Long Peters, Wadsworth township pioneers. They were married in Wadsworth and for a time operated a grocery store on what is now known as South Medina Line Road. Later he engaged in farming and owned and operated a threshing outfit and a picket mill. His remains were buried in the cemetery of Jerusalem Lutheran Church at Acme. Eliza's death resulted from a fall and after her burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth, William's remains were disinterred and buried beside hers.
