 Edwin Forest, eldest child of William and Eliza Harter, was born in Wadsworth Township, Medina County, Ohio. He was employed as an engineer on the Chicago & Northwestern Railway, running out of Belvidere, Illinois, where he resided. He was married to Alverna Overholt, born March 2, 1872; died June 15, 1956. She was the daughter of Anthony Overholt and wife (nee Nash). Edwin's death occurred when his train ran into an open switch near Langley, Illinois. He is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wadsworth, Ohio. After his death, Alverna and her two sons returned to Wadsworth and many years later she was married to Irvin Gunsaulis. After his death she lived with her son, Glen, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where her remains are buried.
