General Notes: WILLIAM (LA ZOUCHE), LORD ZOUCHE, or LA ZOUCHE (of Haryngworth), son and heir, was said to be aged 40 and more at his father's death. His great-grandfather, the 1st Lord, had licence, 27 October 1351, to grant the manor of Bridgwater, Somerset, to this William and his wife Agnes, who together also succeeded (under a settlement) to the manors of Brafield and Little Houghton, Northants, on his said great-grndfather's death in 1352. He may have been the man who was going to Ireland with William de Windsor, February 1368/9; he had seisin of his father's lands, 20 June 1382; was accused before Parliament of inventing an accusation against the Duke of Lancaster in 1384. but was acquitted; accompanied Richard II on his only expedition into Scotland, 1385; had licence to fortify and crenellate his manor of Harringworth and to have a yearly fair and weekly market there, 8 ay 1387; and was one of those removed from Court by the victorious Lords Appellant, early in 1387/8. He married, 1stly, before 27 October 1351, Agnes, apparently daughter of Sir Henry GREEN, Chief Justice of the King's Bench (1361-65), of Boughton, Drayton and Green's Norton, Northants, by Katherine, daughter of Sir Simon DE DRAYTON, of Drayton. She was living, 2 December 1391. He married, 2ndly, apparently after 28 April 1393, Elizabeth, widow of John (DE ARUNDEL), 2nd LORD ARUNDEL (died 14 August 1390), daughter of Edward (LE DESPENSER), 1st LORD DESPENSER, by Elizabeth de jure suo jure (according to modern doctrine) BARONESS BURGHERSH, daughter and heir of Bartholomew (BURGHERSH), 2nd LORD BURGHERSH. He died 13 May 1396. Will, directing burial at Harringworth, dated at Clipsham, Rutland, 4 May 13 96, proved 4 June following at Stowe Park. His widow, who was assigned dower, 3 July 1396, died 10 or 11 April 1408. Will, directing burial in Tewkesbury Abbey, dated 4 April 1408, proved 1408 at Lambeth. William la Zouche, 3rd Lord Zouche (of Haryngworth) was born circa 1342.2 He was the son of William la Zouche, 2nd Lord Zouche (of Haryngworth) and Elizabeth de Ros. He married, firstly, Agnes Green, daughter of Sir Henry Green, before 27 October 1351. He married, secondly, Elizabeth Despenser, daughter of Edward le Despenser, 1st Lord le Despenser and Elizabeth Burghersh, after 28 April 1393. He died on 13 May 1396.

He succeeded to the title of 3rd Lord Zouche, of Haryngworth [E., 1308] on 23 April 1382.
