Earle Family - South Africa
There are a number of Earle families listed in “Genealogical Institute of SA, Stellenbosch, 2011 SAF CD v 9”. Some of the trees have been added to GENi and others not.
The purpose of his project is to establish the trees and try to fit in some profiles as yet not linked to any main tree. It would be good to establish accurate trees for this family.
There are 3 sections to the project:
- Heads of families/tress as listed in SAFv9
- GENI Profiles not yet connected to an Earle tree
- Sundry records/entries/documents found but not placed/linked/connected
Heads listed in SAF v9
Once the trees are all added to GENi we will be able to assign the order/ of their Stamvader/Progenitor status. Listed her in order of arrival date where known.

born ca. 1801. Arrived Algoa Bay 2 June 1820 (1820 Settler) - Chemist. Married Mary Boardman and Hannah Ubsdell
William Francis Earle
born 17 Jan 1857 Sherrif, Hutton, Yorkshire, Lancashire, England. Arrived in South Africa 1880. Married Jean Graham Gibson daughter of John.
Charles Earl
born Ipswich, England 11 Jan 1861. Arrived in SA 1883. Married Jane Forbes on 27 Dec 1892
William Francis Earle, OBE SV/PROG who married Jean Graham Gibson SM
born England - Major Royal Field Artillery, First WW. Died May 1966 married Isipingo, Natal 11 June 1924 Eunice Brereton (1896-1976)
NOTE: George was not the SV/PROG - he was born in Natal. His father was.
