Turns out, the Huff family is related to local attraction Nancy (Kerlin) Barnett AND John Rolfe & his wife Pocahontas!
Nancy Kerlin Barnett, Married to William Barnett, February 29, 1808. He was born September 27, 1786. He drowned in Ohio River September 24, 1854. William was the great great-great grandson of Pocahontas and John Rolfe. Daniel G. Doty, 1846 - 1934. protected his grandmother's grave by staying at her graveside with his gun, while the county relocated this Cemetery to build the road. A concrete slab was placed over the grave to protect the marker, August 8, 1912.

He was the author or co-author of over 100 articles in scientific journals, including Botanical Gazette, Ecological Monographs, American Midland Naturalist, Ecology, The Bryologist, Castanea, and American Journal of Botany.

The name of Warren Cash is found through the early history of the Kentucky Baptist Church. In 1817, the Salem Association numbered 31 churches with 1809 members, spread throughout a 15-county area. Warren began to preach in the Vertrees Creek Settlement and in 1808 a church called Union was constituted there. The same year the Goshen Church in Breckinridge County was formed through the efforts of Elder Cash. On March 17, 1824 Reverend Warren Cash organized and became pastor of Gilead Baptist Church in Hardin County.

John Linn, an old resident near Linn Grove (INDIANA) died on Tuesday, very suddenly. Mr. Linn, after whom the little village is named, moved from Darke County, Ohio about 1840, and resided on his farm near that place ever since. He was a highly respected citizen and quite wealthy. ~ Decatur Journal

At one time the soldiers prodded a feather bed to detect his presence but did not find him."

His death is listed in Ogdensburg on the attached 1937 NY State Death Index, which pretty much confirms that he died in the St. Lawrence State Hospital. We're lucky they brought him home to bury him and he wasn't just a number in the onsite graveyard!

George 'Chief of All' Sizemore (1750-1822) age 72
George Sizemore is said to be the earliest Sizemore in Southeastern Kentucky, and the father of all our line - hence the name 'Of All’. There are many legends about him. The most famous story is that he was the half-breed son (born about 1750) of a white woman and a Cherokee Indian Chief, and that George's wife, Aggie Shepherd, was a full-blooded Cherokee who had been taken accidentally from her village when a white raiding party, intending to rescue a white girl who had been kidnapped by the Indians, mistook Aggie for white and 'rescued' her as well. He is buried in Napier-Sizemore-Begley Cemetery, Dryhill, Leslie County, Kentucky.
