This project seeks to collect all of the Jewish families from the village of Věž (Wiesch), formerly in Bohemia, Czech Republic. The name Wiesch was used by German speakers.

This town is indexed in the Familitian Books in the Region of Caslav, Bohemia along with the small towns of Zeliv, Studenec Horni, Studenec Dolni, Dolni Kralovice, Krivsoudov, Martinice and Vlastejovice.

The IAJGS Jewish Cemetery Project indicates that the Jewish population used the cemetery at Humpolec, a larger town about 6 km to the West.

Věž is a village and municipality (obec) in Havlíčkův Brod District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic.

The municipality covers an area of 14.43 square kilometres (5.57 sq mi), and has a population of 796 (as at 28 August 2006).

Věž lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) south-west of Havlíčkův Brod, 21 km (13 mi) north-west of Jihlava, and 95 km (59 mi) south-east of Prague.

From Jewish OnLine World Burial Registry, Cemetery in Humpolec in Plot 091-0016, one stone is identified as coming from Vez: Chajim Meisel, Died at age 80, burial November 13, 1850.
