Mount Prospect Cemetery, Franklinville, Cattaraugus, New York

Mount Prospect Cemetery resides on a hill in the town of Franklinville, Cattaraugus, New York. The beautifully green cemetery was dedicated in 1878 and overseen by the Franklinville Cemetery Association, formed in 1877.
In the early to mid 1900's, all burials in the Old, South Main Street Cemetery were removed and reinterred into the Mount Prospect Cemetery. These were the plots of the wealthy citizens of the area, most interred before 1877 in the Old Cemetery.
Mount Prospect is still an active cemetery at present.
