Jorgenson : The family name was from Norway. A child was given a first name: Olav, Tomas, etc. and then was followed by his fathers name, Jorgen with son for male child datter for a girl added to the name. The third part of the name was for the village or farm the child was born on. When the family came to America, the last name was dropped and the middle name became the last name.
Some of the family members kept the last name, say Maurset, which became Maursetter or the original name of Maurset. Also some of the children changed Jorgenson to Jurgenson.
