The Litman name as I understand it is of German/Jewish origin. In this regard I have concluded that all Litmans are of Jewish origin, regardless of spelling. I have been told this by a rather reliable source, Richard Litman, Alexandria Va. My known Litman origin is of a German national named Ned E Litman, no info available before him is available. He was born approximately 1770. He married into the Foote family. (Polly) We practice the Protestant religion.
My source of info., Richard Litman is a well educated Jewish from a Russian satellite country. During my geanology search I met Richard and was very impressed with his accomplishments. I garnered my info from our conversations.
