Biography
Jonathan Godfrey was born 24 June 1682 in Eastham, Barnstable, (then) Plymouth Colony, the son of George Godfrey. He was of Chatham MA. by 1706. He died by 23 April 1765, the date his will was proved.[1]

Recorded at Eastham: "Jonnathan godfray the son of george godfray was borne the 24th of June: 1682"[2]
Will
His will, in which he was called "yeoman", was dated 7 March 1765 and proved 23 April 1765. It mentions his wife, Mercy; son Thomas; heirs of son Jeptha dec'd; daughters Hannah Rogers, Mercy Rogers, Ruth Myrick, Lydia Smith, Mehitable Hamilton, Anna Freeman and heirs of deceased daughter Barbary Young. Son Thomas and son-in-law Nathaniel Hamilton were named executors.[1]
